Alternatively, you can make your way around the site using the various links until you find what you are looking for, or simply browse until something catches your eye.
To find out more about a product, click on the image of the product or on the "More Info" button. You'll then be taken to that product's page, which shows you an image of the item, more information about the item, an "Add to Basket" button to add the item to your Basket, and sometimes links to other related products. You can also enlarge the image by clicking on "View larger image".
Adding items to your Basket
When you click on "Add to Basket", the item is added to your Basket (found at the top right-hand corner of your screen). This is a place to store anything you intend to buy. You can remove items from your Basket at any time if you change your mind.
When you're ready to buy, click "Proceed to
checkout" to begin filling out the order form.
Completing the order form
The next and final page of the checkout is where you
fill in your payment information. We accept the following credit

You are given an order summary showing your order number. Please make a note of this in case you need to refer to it at a later date. Print out a copy of this as your receipt.
Once your payment has been processed you will be sent an email acknowledging confirmation of your order.

Every care has been taken to ensure that all product descriptions and specifications are correct. Colour reproduction is a good representation, however due to variances in monitor resolutions etc, a slight variance from the actual products can occur.

We currently deliver anywhere on the UK mainland.
What happens after I
place my order?
You will receive an email from the supplier of your goods. You will receive one email per supplier (for example if you order 2 products from one supplier and 1 product from another supplier, you will receive 2 emails).
Will all the goods I
order arrive at the same time?
Your goods may arrive at different times due to being despatched under seperate cover. Check the printout of your order confirmation or your confirmation email to determine the supplier of your goods and when those goods will be delivered.
When will my order arrive?
The delivery details of your goods will be outlined in your confirmation email and vary by supplier. However, all goods will be delivered no later than 28 days.
Do you allow delivery
to a different address?
Yes, you can enter a different delivery address to your own address. For example you may want your goods delivered to your work address or as a gift for someone else.
Is your site secure?
Yes, our site is completely secure. To ensure the security of your transaction, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This means that any page where you enter personal information such as credit card details, the information is encrypted to safeguard your details. Encryption also prevents other Internet users from accessing this information. We only accept orders that are placed using this technology.
If I pay by credit or
debit card, when will my card be charged?
All payments by debit or credit card are taken on despatch of the product. You will see "Independent Shop Order - [name of your supplier]" on your credit card statement.
How do I return my goods?
You can return your goods to the supplier for a refund as long as the goods are unused and unworn and are not perishable or personalised. It is not possible to return plants. Each supplier has a different returns policy that is outlined in your confirmation email and in the pack when you receive your goods. We recommend you use a recorded delivery service to ensure the safe delivery of returned goods.
What if I want a refund
on my plants?
If you are unhappy with any plants you receive please contact the supplier of those plants. The details of the supplier will be on your confirmation email and the printout from your order confirmation.
What do I do if my goods
are damaged or faulty?

These terms and conditions apply to any order for goods or services (“Products”) you make through The Independent Shop online or through the print editions of The Independent and Independent on Sunday (together “The Independent Shop”). By using The Independent Shop you agree to them.
2. Age and residence
You must be at least 18 years old and resident in Great Britain (UK mainland) to place an order through The Independent Shop. Orders from people outside Great Britain will not be accepted. By placing an order you warrant that you are over the age of 18.
4. Contacting us about The Independent Shop
Independent Print Limited owns and operates The Independent Shop. You can contact us about The Independent Shop on weekdays between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m by telephone on 020 3615 2270 or by e-mail addressed to email@example.com. We will do our best to help you to access The Independent Shop online however we do not guarantee the availability of the site, or any part of it.
5. Your contract with Supplier
5.1 At the Independent Shop you can find Products offered for sale by selected suppliers listed below (“Suppliers”). We provide a place where you can make an offer to buy a Product from a Supplier and if the Supplier accepts your order a contract is created between you and the Supplier, rather than with us. The Supplier is under no obligation to accept your order and there is no contract for the sale of a Product unless and until you receive confirmation that the Supplier has accepted your order (the “Confirmation”).
5.2 Your order is subject to any other terms and conditions notified to you by the Supplier.
5.3 Since we are not involved in your transaction with the Supplier we cannot give any guarantees about the Products you buy. Any complaint or claim you may have about a Product ordered through The Independent Shop is between you and the Supplier. You agree that we are not liable for any goods you order or for any act or omission of any Supplier.
6. Prices and Payment
6.1 Product prices will be as quoted by The Independent Shop except in the case of an obvious error notified to you. Unless otherwise indicated, prices include VAT and delivery costs to Great Britain (UK mainland).
6.2 Prices may be changed at any time, but such changes will not affect an order in respect of which you have received Confirmation.
6.3 Payment for orders made through The Independent Shop online must be by credit or debit card.
6.4 Except in the case of plants, the Supplier will not take payment by credit or debit card for a Product until it has been despatched to you. This does not apply to cheques.
7. Fulfilment and delivery
7.1 Your order will be fulfilled by the Supplier and details of delivery will be set out in the “the Confirmation”. Please note that if you order several Products at the same time they may be delivered separately.
7.2 Suppliers will deliver products within 28 (twenty-eight) days of Confirmation. If a Supplier is unable to deliver a Product within this timescale or cannot deliver for any reason it will notify you as soon as possible.
7.3 Your contract is with the Supplier and you must contact the Supplier for information about delivery of the Products.
8 Cancellation, Return and Refund Policy
8.1 Except in the case of plants and perishable or personalised Products you have the right to return a Product to a Supplier within fourteen (14) calendar days of delivery of the Product provided that:
8.1.1 In the case of electronic goods, CDs, DVDs and computer software the Products have not been opened and are returned in the original wrapping;
8.1.2 The Product is not in any way damaged, has not been used and in the case of shoes or clothing has not been worn;
8.1.3 You are responsible for the costs involved in returning the Product.
8.2 In the case of faulty Products, suppliers will refund the price of the Product together with the cost incurred by you to return it by post. You are required to contact the Supplier before returning a faulty product.
8.3 The Supplier will refund the price of Products returned under clause 8.1 and 8.2 above by crediting your credit or debit card within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt of the returned Product.
8.4 We suggest that you use a recorded delivery service to return Products to the Supplier.
8.5 Your statutory rights are unaffected by this cancellation, returns and refund policy.
9. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer
9.1 While we try to ensure that descriptions of Products are accurate and the Products themselves are of a good standard, we cannot promise or give any undertaking that they will be of satisfactory quality or in the case of services that they will be provided with reasonable skill and care. Any such warranties are DISCLAIMED BY US ABSOLUTELY. This DISCLAIMER does not affect your statutory rights against the Supplier.
9.2 Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits our or the Supplier’s liability for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury.
9.3 Neither we nor the Supplier accept liability for any indirect or consequential loss or damage, or for any loss of data, profit, revenue or business, however caused, even if foreseeable.
9.4 No representation is made and no warranty is given by us or the Supplier that The Independent Shop online or any Products offered for sale on The Independent Shop online are free from viruses and will cause no harm to computers or other electronic devices and to the fullest extent allowed by law we and the Supplier exclude liability for such loss or damage.
9.5 We accept no liability for any error, omission or inaccuracy in content submitted to The Independent Shop by or on behalf of Suppliers promoting their Products.
The Independent shop online is powered by AMO, which uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology; the personal information you submit, such as your credit card details, is encrypted when it is collected on The Independent Shop web pages.
11. Access to and availability of The Independent Shop online
11.1 We accept no liability for failure of, or interruption to, or delay or disruption of The Independent Shop online.
11.2 We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue The Independent shop online or any Product at any time for any reason.
11.3 We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to The Independent Shop.
12.1 We may amend these terms and conditions from time to time by posting revised terms and conditions on The Independent Shop web site, which shall apply to all orders placed after such date.
